In the middle of wedding planning and thinking about your ceremony backdrop? Then take a read of this…

Often, couples invest a lot of time and effort into creating a stunning and cool ceremony backdrop that reflects their style and personality. However, once the ceremony is over, have you thought about how to bloody reuse the thing? And I’m not just talking about taking it home. I mean how will you reuse it at your wedding!

Repurposing and reusing at your wedding is a great way to save on those pennies. You can use your decor throughout your ceremony to reception to transform your reception room into an equally enchanting space. And that is exactly what Karla and Tom did. We worked together to create this super cool backdrop which could be moved and restyled from the ceremony room to the backdrop of their sweetheart table. This is a design which works well in so many different ways.

The boards can be moved around to create a whole different look, or you can separate the boards to create two backdrops instead of one. It really can be so much more than a ceremony backdrop!

Read on more about how you can reuse at your wedding day…and still make it look super cool.

How to reuse your ceremony backdrop…

Before you can repurpose your ceremony backdrop, you need to make sure it works for both settings. Consider backdrops that are versatile in design, colour, and materials, allowing them to blend seamlessly from the ceremony to the reception space. Think about your theme and what works well for you. Mix up those colours using tones and textures which can be restyled in the different areas.

Backdrops are a fab way of adding a focal point to your wedding and a reason why I love them so much. Not only do you get a cool backdrop to your photos when you say “I do”. You also get to style your reception space in the same way..meaning you save some pennies on your wedding decor. And that makes me super happy!

Your backdrop can be at your ceremony, then moved to your top table / sweetheart table to then even restyled to create a super unique and fun photobooth background. It could even be moved and styled around your table plan. Creating a modern and fun design which will be having your guests talk about your day for weeks after. The ideas are endless and working with a stylist who can visualise these options for you, saves you so much time and money in the future.

And there are lots of different options for backdrops. You can have bold solid boards, beautifully decorated arches, floral installations and even neons. Whatever you go for, remember to pick something that works for you and your style….and can be easily moved 😉

If you are thinking about having fresh flowers in your wedding decor, then these can easily be repurposed from the ceremony backdrop to the reception area. Florals in trays or bud vases could go on the front of your top table. A floral arch could be styled to add a focus point to your top table. You can transfer any floral arrangements from the ceremony to your reception. It adds a natural and cohesive element to your decor. Better still, this is a cost-effective way to maximize the use of your flowers and maintain a consistent theme throughout your wedding.

Then there is the question of… what to do with your backdrops after your wedding.
If you have created backdrops cause you’re DIY masters, then why not donate these to your venue / stylist, so other rockstars can use them. Sell them on Facebook market or upload them to Recycle my wedding. Remember to reuse where you can. So if we can help others with their wedding then that’s a bloody good deed done.

The best! Thought I’d (the groom) do the review from the groom’s perspective because as we know, we’re mostly for keeping things cheap and simple and not really having much input! Rebecca wasn’t part of our original budget but she should have been up there with the venue. First one in, last one out, everywhere on the day. Gave so much confidence that things would go well on the day and took all the stress from us including helping on the run up. It only takes a quick look online or Instagram to see how good Rebecca is and it really does turn out that way! The place looked unbelievable and guests couldn’t praise her enough for just being so friendly and professional. The Mrs was over the moon! So to all the grooms (even brides) iffing and butting, don’t. It will be the best decision you made. More drinks with your friends, less stress for all, and a wedding that looks exactly how you want it too. That’s Rebecca and she was the best.
